I have a great picture of me standing atop this one with my snowboard, but this photo from my first trip there is kinda funny. Camera was on a timer so we’re “posing”
This is staged. I didn’t actually take a siesta there.
Several years prior this was the first major peak in Idaho that I climbed. I returned to snowboard it in 2021.
While making this website I ended up back on this summit so Taylor could check it off after we tried a new route on The Fin. I told him I should at least try to replace my photo (which I reused from my 11er collection) with a better one. This is what we ended up with.
That’s the peak in the background. I have some photos from the top of it, but I like this one better 🙂
Peakbaggers (from other parts of Idaho) have nicknamed this “Rock Roll Peak”–but all the locals call it Otto’s
I really try to avoid visiting the beautiful Sawtooths when it’s smoky. This smoke caught be by surprise since it had been clear for days prior.
This peak is a local classic. I’ve been up it 3 times from 3 different directions.
My final peak on the list! Woohoo!
I remember there hadn’t been any smoke for days. Then as I was driving out here and the sun was rising I realized I wasn’t going to be enjoying pretty views in the Sawtooths on my hike.
official USGS name is Galena Benchmark. There are too many things named ‘Galena’ in that area.
This is the tallest peak around Hailey so I’ve been up it a few times. A hike in the fall, a spring snowboard outing, and this winter ascent. I’m sure I’ll be back!
official USGS name is Ohio Benchmark. Every local calls it Mindbender
I didn’t take any photos on my mountain bike ride to 8595′ (“Trouble Peak”)–it was probably just a smoky day. This photo is from the next peak to the west: 9315′ (“South Dollarhide”)
was formerly labeled as Allen Mountain on maps. Big Mama is the local nickname
My first one! This is when Danielle and I had just started dating.
That’s a photo of Kelly Mountain taken from 6186
This one is practically in Pocatello. Really long drive; really short hike. So I went out there while I was on crutches.
